About me

I'm Giuditta Matteucci, Illustrator and Visual Designer

I’m a professional dreamer who loves the melancholy of ghost stories, cinema, books, and hugs. I was born in Ravenna and trained in Emilia Romagna, shaped by the poetic fog of the region, emo-punk references of small towns, and studies in art and fashion. These roots naturally seep into everything I create.

After attending an experimental art high school, I graduated from ISIA in Faenza (with top marks both times—nerd alert) and lived countless professional lives in art, fashion, and communication, moving across Italy before returning to Romagna. Now, I call Cesenatico my cozy creative den.

Being a freelancer is a natural choice for me—freedom suits me perfectly.

I love that spark of intuition that, when it strikes at the right moment, ignites like fireworks, connecting heart and mind with a spark that flows to my hands, making ideas tangible. That spark defines me.

I work both for myself and for others. A little oracle at heart, I listen to clients’ needs, translating their wishes into drawings and projects, always attuned to their unique vision.

Working with me is a joy!

I’m a person of many shades: I create illustrations in countless forms and on diverse surfaces, I experiment with animation, stickers, and filters, working with iPads, computers, pencils, and brushes.

Ever hungry for knowledge, photography, art, and culture, I continuously explore multimedia and print materials to stay inspired and informed—sleeping only when absolutely necessary, though I do enjoy it.

My childhood home was filled with simple beauty. My father, a passionate photographer and lover of literature, cinema, and comics, and my mother, the daughter of a hairdresser with a penchant for fashion and aesthetics, shaped my artistic references. These influences, including the cinematic compositions of great photographers, merge with my passions for comics, contemporary art, and subcultures.

Lost Ghosts: My Artistic Project and More.

As an artist, my primary project is Lost Ghosts, blending vintage photography, contemporary art, ready-made pieces, humor, a touch of darkness, and a love for the invisible. These illustrated artworks evoke emotion and memory. From Italy to Mexico, my little ghosts drawn on vintage photos have found their own place in exhibitions and on social media here.

I can't sit still!

A cat lover through and through, you’ll often find felines in my illustrations and my life. Lately, my cats have started blooming too!.

I’m involved in numerous parallel projects that fuel my work with inspiration and passion: I’m politically active in a civic list, I support feminist campaigns online with satirical illustrations, I volunteer as a reader for Nati per Leggere and perform improvisational theater.

I love what I do, but even more than that, I’d love to create something with you.
