Cycling Ravenna, Illustrations from Historical Photos and Exhibition

The Comitato Amici del Ciclismo Ravenna, Italy, after conducting significant and complex historical research, commissioned me to create over 20 illustrations of historical jerseys from more than twenty teams that shaped the history of cycling in the Ravenna area, spanning a century from 1892 to the present day.

Monumental and poetic, beyond the jerseys, I also portrayed the libertarian Guglielmo Malatesta, who became an icon of the project. He was the first athlete from Ravenna to participate in the Olympics and became famous for his tragic story, narrated on a panel dedicated to him in the exhibition.

These works became part of an exhibition held in Ravenna from June 28 to July 28, 2024, in the open-air gallery of Via Zirardini, sponsored by the Municipality of Ravenna and Ravenna Tourism.
